Thumb drive

It's staggering the amount of data that a relatively small thumb drive can store for a computer. A friend told me he has one with 5 gigabytes of storage capacity. The technology for computers, phones and the like gets more compact and faster every day. I can't keep up with any of it. But I do enjoy the benefits of that technology (when it works), even if I don't understand it.

In the same way, I enjoy a well-prepared meal, although I'm not a cook and have very little understanding of how to make the dishes that I like so much.

Divine providence and God's grace are a little like that to me. God's provision is so far beyond what I can imagine that it often goes unnoticed or taken for granted. And God's grace, shown in the life and self-giving of Jesus, is so amazing that even non-Christians like to sing to about it!
