This week the postal service, UPS, FedEx and other delivery services are making a herculean effort to get those cards, letters and packages to their appropriate destinations before Christmas. It isn't easy. They've been warning us for a while that time is of the essence, giving us deadlines to meet to assure delivery by the 25th. Multitudes have stood in lines at the post office or delivery service to try our best to comply. All this, and winter weather, too!
But there is one special delivery that came just in the nick of time. According to the Bible, at just the right time, God sent Jesus Christ into the world, the Son of God who came to seek and to save. The conception of Jesus was miraculous, yet his birth was a delivery that was at once routine and unprecedented. For in Jesus all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell!
No wonder the heavens resonated in song: Glory to God!
