Tomorrow my wife and I will be part of the Thanksgiving parade. Oh, not the Macy's parade, or any of the other televised ones. We'll be part of the real Thanksgiving parade on one of the nation's Interstate highways. We'll be going over the rivers (literally) and at least alongside some of the woods, if not through them. And we'll end up at Janie's mom's for the day -- Grandma's house. There will be a couple of young nieces there, our youngest son and his wife, and Janie's brother, and probably some other folks. We'll have a great meal, enjoy catching up, watch a little football and then make the three hour drive back to Memphis that evening.
There will be much to be thankful for: that my mother-in-law overcame serious illness recently; that my father is recovering from his own illness and is feeling hopeful again through the bereavement for my mother; that Janie is feeling better after her recent heart problems; that our grown children are employed in a time of economic difficulty for many... and much more!
So we're happy to be part of the Thanksgiving parade! I pray God's richest blessings for each one who reads this and hope you, too, will have a Happy Thanksgiving!
