Folks who are interested in sharing their faith sometimes become discouraged if the persons they are working with don't express a desire to make a commitment to the Lord right away. But genuine relationships take time. Friendships develop over many years. The witness to our faith is both verbal and life-style in expression. Telling what Christ means to us is important, but that has to be supported by the way we live our daily lives in view of the friends we are seeking to assist in making spiritual decisions.
We also are part of a larger community of faith, which means that there are other Christian influences in the lives of those we are sharing faith with. It is frequently the cumulative effort of individuals, churches, Bible studies or classes, printed/media resources that helps one come to his or her own profession of faith in Christ.
