I like the reminder that comes from John Bowen in these comments:
“Sometimes Christians assume when it comes to talking to a friend about God that the other person knows nothing about God, has never experienced God, indeed that God has never taken an interest in that person until that minute. Paul’s approach to evangelism assumes the opposite: that God is already involved in people’s lives, trying to catch their attention, nudging them, intriguing them, making them aware of the spiritual issues of life.” [Evangelism for Normal People. Minneapolis: Augsburg Fortress, 2002, pp. 102-103]
