Isa 58:6ff 'Is this not the fast I choose...'
Evangelism is incomplete without social concern. Our Lord ministered to people holistically: spirit, body, mind. If we engage in a Lenten discipline of fasting, say, that could provide the means to help feed the hungry. And in doing so, if we are moved to take the next step of a personal interest in someone in need, could we not have the opportunity to share why we are doing this? There is a sense in which evangelism is nothing more than the overflow of God’s grace in our daily living.
